EXTENSION OF THE DATELINE FOR USE OF OLD STYLE PASSPORT BY MALAWIAN CITIZENS ABROAD FROM 1ST JULY, 2011 TO 31ST DECEMBER 2011
Government approval has been granted to extend the dateline for use of the old style passport by Malawian Citizens abroad from 1st July, 2011 to 31st December, 2011.
This implies that Malawians resident abroad can still use the old style passport to travel from their countries of residence to a third country and back (e.g. United States of America to United Kingdom and back to the United States of America) till 31st December , 2011. They are also allowed to travel back to Malawi using the old passport till the same dateline.
However, once they return home using the old passport, they will not be allowed to leave the country till they acquire the new style passport.
All Malawians in Diaspora are requested to take note of this development.
